| Allen Smith Elk City, Oklahoma Merritt High School - 1977
|
| At
the age of 14,
Allen became obsessed with the Martial Arts, eventually obtaining the
2nd Dan Black Belt rank in TaeKwon-Do. He operated a
successful
Martial Art School in Elk City, OK for several years and eventually
furthered his skills by studying various arts such as Kenpo, Aikido and
Jui-Jitsu. As life became busier and more hectic, Allen turned to the transportation industry as a chosen profession. No longer "running the road", he currently sits on 4 million safe miles as a professional driver and has owned several successful businesses within the trucking industry. Seeing and hearing the hardships that many professional truckers experience, Allen penned the first of its kind eBook : The Truth About Trucking, in 2000, making it publicly available in 2003. He further authored three more eBooks: How to Guarantee a "Perfect" Move - So You've Got Your CDL...Now What? and his most recent: The BEST Truck Driving Jobs-A State by State Guide.
His eBooks are nationally known and, along with his talk radio show, he
has become recognized as the leading advocate for assisting students
and new drivers entering into the trucking profession. His
goal
still remains the same: to "Raise the Standards of the
Trucking Industry." |

As
an accomplished songwriter, his tune, "The Trucking Brand" was recently
published on the "When the Big Rigs Don't Roll" music CD, produced by Allen & Ayers Productions, performed by John Johnson.
Allen also is known for his popular trucking blog, Ask The Trucker, which was recently noted as the #1 trucking blog on the internet by uShip.com: "Ask the Trucker is an interactive blog for students and beginners to ask trucking related questions to 30-year industry veteran Allen Smith. Designed to facilitate the process of becoming a trucker, as well as protect novices from the being taken advantage of, this is a must read for anyone with questions about the industry. While every site on this countdown is great, this is the only one that actively helps build a competent and cohesive workforce to ensure a bright future for trucking." |
